I was born in Hungary to my garden-enthusiast parents, so the love of nature came to me at an early age. I spent a lot of time with my dad learning about grapes, fruit trees and making wine, while my mum took me on long trips to the Hungarian forests. I become obsessed with herbs, collecting different species in my own little herb garden. I have studied art since primary school, and knowing many graphic techniques really helped my creativity in design as well: one of the best things in garden design for me is to create living art with the help of plants.
I decided to learn garden design in Edinburgh to explore the perfect harmony between nature and art, to look for aesthetic ways of producing crops.
Living near the Royal Botanic Garden, I took many courses there and my week-ends were always about widening my plant knowledge taking thousands of photos.
I finished my degree in Garden and Green-space Design at SRUC, where I also had the opportunity to exhibit two show gardens, one at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2012. Constructing the Plant Explorer’s Garden was the most exciting time of my life, to see our plan on paper come to life and to receive the positive reactions from the visitors.
Moving to London I have been involved in many private garden remake from design to finish, creating all sorts of shapes and sizes. With 7 years of practice in the business (between the cities of Edinburgh, Giverny and London) and a lifetime of plant and gardening knowledge from my parents in Hungary, I strongly believe in organic and sustainable methods to create my designs, using high plant diversity in my planting plans to enhance wildlife and a harmonious setting for all.
